Patch

I have been begging my mom to give me a haircut since I came home from school almost 3 weeks ago.  Yesterday she finally agreed to give me one, so the fun began.  I always encourage my mother to use the electric clippers when cutting my hair simply because it's faster than using scissors and her hands.  Every other time, this faster method has been quite alright!  Last night however, was a different story.  As she was clipping my hair the attachment fell off, luckily she noticed before it scalped me.  I assured her it would be fine and that she should just put it back on and continue, so she did.  Next thing I know she pulls the clippers away from my head, gasps, and then goes silent....  "Mom? What happened?" Silence... turns out the attachment came off again, this time she didn't catch it.  After she gained the strength to inform me what had happened I busted up laughing and so did she.  What else could we do, the damage was done! Mom told me to tell everyone I went to the Beauty School to get my haircut, so that's what I did, after telling them the real story of course!

I attempted to cover up the missing patch of hair by implementing a comb over.  It sort of worked, it just looks like I have bed head in one area of my hair. Nobody really noticed, but that didn't really matter because I told everyone! Needless to say, I have gained a new nickname... you can call me.... Patch.

Sister Hinckley once said, "The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache." I encourage everyone to implement this same mentality in your lives, if something bad happens to you, just laugh! It's far better to laugh than to cry or become upset.

Enjoy!

  4. Hah. That's quite funny =) I'm glad you laughed it off, for you mom's sake. If I did that to someone I'd feel terrible!

  6. This is priceless! I would not let my mother anywhere near my hair with scissors after she cut it up to my chin in the 4th grade! You're a brave soul.
